Experimental investigation on mechanical properties of nanocomposites based on poly lactic acid/ polyolefin elastomer reinforced with multi-walled carbon nanotubes, and graphene nanoplatelets

The mechanical properties of nanocomposites based on poly lactic acid/polyolefin elastomer (PLA/POE) were investigated. compounds made using an internal mixer. POE in two levels at 10–20 wt.% and nano fillers, including multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) graphene nano-platelets (GnPs) 1, 2, 3 levels, added to the PLA. Impact tensile tests conducted extract impact properties, respectively. dispersion quality fillers was also studied by field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) images. FESEM images demonstrated that MWCNT all well distributed different orientations, while GnPs accumulated into PLA/POE matrix. simultaneous presence dispersed with high matrix only low loading. test results showed increasing individually a hybrid form loadings POE, Young’s modulus T-strength improved, but strength deformation break decreased. addition PLA significantly increased 128% 75%, respectively, reduced
